John Harlin Media is for people who love the natural world. Our mission is to play, to protect, and to share.

What you’re witnessing here is the slow birth of a big dream. Expect rapid growth once we work out the kinks. It’s called a “soft launch,” a nice euphemism for “figuring it out as we go.”

We intend to serve the entire outdoor writing and reading community: authors, publishers, clubs, and readers alike. Besides making our own e-books, we will sell digital downloads of long out-of-print or difficult to find outdoors books from the world over. If you’re a published author and would like to earn royalties from letting us sell digital copies of your books, please get in touch.

As a hybrid bookstore and publishing house, we’re happy to work with both publishers and authors–whoever has the rights to a work.

If you’d like to participate, please contact us.

Please sign up for the RSS feed if you’d like to learn of new books and authors as they’re added, and for the Chapter One Newsletter if you’d enjoy a periodic roundup of new content and free sample chapters.

Thanks for your interest,

    Dear John,
Greetings fro Rhode Island. I was planning to surprise you at the AMME celwebration this coming weekend when i walked into the presentatiaon yuo’re making. Now a change of plans. I have just looked you up on the internet: IMO\PRESSIVE!! as a result of that I want an autographed copyi of your book The Eiger Obsession. It’s too late for me to order it from Amazon and get it here before I leave for CA on Friday. Thus would yu please bring an autographed copy of the book to the AMME celebration. I’ll pay you for the book there — and that’s a must! Can’t wait to see you!!
    Most fondly, Agnes
